I walked 25 kilometres yesterday!

* insert applause here *

For the 4th time I walked the Dam-tot-Dam-loop, an organized walk from the Dam Square in Amsterdam to the Dam Square in Zaandam. As my friend K, who joined me, and I were both hopelessly untrained (I'd only done long-distance essaywriting since Italy) we started out a little anxious, but we ( Read more... )

Oh so that's what they were doing down there today! Hmm. Also there was some kind of bike race TOO. And a "drill team" of black guys was hardcore drumming up the street as well! There is just so much going on here, a whirlwind meltdown of stuff going on. There was some Queen Bee thing going on yesterday but I missed it. Crazy! Kind of like when I was in Philly, always something going down, just I'm not sick of it all any more.

Shit 17 km! That's only 10 miles! Fuck a cause; I would've walked that just for fun! If only I had known, I would've walked with you!

LOL, I did the 25 k - so a bit more - but still manageable if you have ok stamina, which you have, with all the biking. I didn't know you liked walking, too. The event could've used some more guys, it was mainly a women's event somehow. There's something odd about seeing all those women in sensible shoes and sensible zip-off trousers and sensible haircuts - like it's a feminist protest march or something. Still, it was great fun!

Oh I have been walking a lot! I was a big walker long before I rediscovered cycling.

Even now that I have a bike too it's good walking again. I felt it in my shins at first when I wasn't biking. Now I can speed walk like back in the day before I rediscovered cycling, and my knee doesn't seem to mind terribly. It seems I am on the way to a full recovery, no doctors necessary. :)

OOH. I should totally join you next year. :D

I hope your knee gets better soon. Knees are annoying. Mine make ridiculous sounds. :P

Also, sleep. Sleep is good. *keels over after numerous hours of staring at Early Modern English vocab stuff*

Wow, that's quite an achievement! Congratulations!
Hope your legs will stop aching soon, though! ;)

They're feeling a lot better already, thanks!
And I'm feeling a little more up to tackling the "peaks" in the Peak District in October now, too.
