Of all the things that define me the most, my nationality is perhaps one of the largest. As a citizen of the United States, it seems there is no where in the world I can go that other people don't know about my native land, its leader and its policies. I consider you quite lucky. I would *love* to live in America. But even though I want to I know New Zealand is my home, and always will be. I would like to be able to move between America and New Zealand as I please. I consider myself to be quite patriotic. I go to ANZAC day parades, and I do stuff on Waitangi day. It sucks your 4th wasn't very exciting. But at least you did something. Do you get a full day off for the 4th?

And about not knowing Helen Clark, that's okay. A lot of people don't know. And I can't name that many either. Just a few of the bigger countries who are in the news all the time.
