I had lunch today with a friend of mine who started to self-injure five years ago. Discussing self-injury with her is always interesting, because as someone who has injured for so much of my life, to interact with someone who is a "newbie" provides an interesting counter viewpoint. I think you're right. I think we underestimate the power of hope sometimes and we shouldn't. Hope gives us the courage to keep trying, even when the odds are against us (or feel that way!).

I am getting more comfortable with the fact we continually sin but since God forgives us I am going to try to be more loving of myself.
I have hope and can offer it to others. I try not search for it in the perfect but also in the imperfections. Even good people struggle and we have to find our own faith and learn to trust our-self. We are only human. I see the big picture sometimes and other times I am too close. I have to go through the same growing pains of life that you do. Thanks for sharing. I enjoy sharing life in words. You are a blessing! What else can we share...talents,money,knowledge,time, words...faith hope and love!Again..Love yourself and trust yourself.

It is amazing how small the world becomes once we allow ourselves to be vulnerable in the eyes of others. I have lived most of my life in shame. How I wish I would have known how accepting others could be! I think the lesson here is to be real with those in your life. Creating a facade in order to gain acceptance isn't nearly as fulfilling as is being accepted for who you are and who you were created to become. Thank you for reminding me of this fact! :)
