"My Eminent Serenity" | chapter 5
A/N: Yosh! Finally, I'm able to post this one. Nights without even an assignment or quiz for the next day are really rare -- we call it miracle, and this night is one of those nights! Haha! XD
Again, this is unbeta'd. I hope you'll like it. This is actually a continuation of the last chapter, the not so exciting chapter. :)

Be my Tutor~

An hour had passed and it seemed that the cats already felt tired of playing with their new friend. Some started to lie on their pet beds and took a nap while others licked their paws.
"Wow!" Yuto exclaimed as he sat on the bench.
Ayako was also sitting on the same bench but Maya was between them.
'He looks like he is guarding his owner from the handsome prince who might abduct her'. Ayako laughed inwardly at her own imagination.
"I'm happy that you enjoyed it...” She said.
He was smiling as his eyes glittered, "I don't regret coming in here!!! I just realized how I still love cats!" He exclaimed as he leaned his back to the adjacent wall behind him.
"You had cats before?" She asked him. Her left hand was caressing Maya's fur.
"Yeah, I had one but it went away when I forgot to feed it. Haha!" He laughed helplessly, "That's why I am not allowed to have a pet cat anymore."
"Oh, that's why you only have dogs in your house?" She asked again.
He nodded. "By the way, getting off from the topic, are you alone here right now?" He asked as he wandered his sight around, searching if there could be any other person aside from them.
"Yeah. My sister is at work." She replied.
"What's your sister's work?"
"Nurse."
His eyes widened, "Really?! That's a noble job."
"Yeah, saving others' lives and to the extent of risking yours..." She uttered, meaning to say it softer so Yuto won't mind it.
"How about your parents, what’s their work?" He continued to interrogate her.
She pursed her lips before answering, "They are government employees, both assigned as mediators with the foreign sectors so practically, they are always not around."
"I heard of that work." Yuto gasped, "Do you feel lonely when you're alone like this?" He looked at her intently, as if sympathizing.
She shook her head, "Not at all. These cats make my daily life, aside from school." She forced a smile.
Yuto sensed that the atmosphere got uncomfortable so he changed the topic, again. "Speaking of which, where do you study? Me, I study at Horikoshi Gakuen!"
'Yeah, the school for the rich and famous... My classmates always talk about infiltrating that school some day!' She thought.
"I'm studying at ToyoHigh School..." She flatly answered.
Yuto looked at her, "Toyo? Isn't that a school for bright students?" He asked.
"That's what they say... but I don't think so..." She said in monotone.
"And that's way very far from here too, right...?" Yuto added.
"Yeah! That's why I'm a bit anxious to graduate from that school." She said with pain on her voice as she thought of how long it took for her to reach her school and the trouble of traveling in trains.
He suddenly jolted. "Oh, I remember! That was also where Inoo-kun studied when he was still in high school!"
"Inoo-kun?" Her eyebrow rose, "You mean that guy who passed MeijiUniversity and also from JE?" She asked.
'By that question, she seemed not aware that Inoo-kun was actually from the same boy group as me.' He thought.
Yuto got a bit hurt. "Yeah..." He shrugged, 'Maybe we're still not that famous here in Japan.'
"How unfortunate, he already graduated when I came to Toyo. The teachers always talked about him during the early days of our first year." She exclaimed. "He's from the same group as yours, right?"
Yuto's eyes widened. His earlier conclusion was wrong, "You knew?"
"Neh?!" She got surprised of his question, "Of course I do. You're all around the TV these pass few days due to your concerts!"
He sighed in relief.
"Nahhh... I'll be a second year high school next week. How fast time passes by..." She muttered while extending her hands up.
"Yeah, we're the same. I wonder if I can still maintain my grades. Being an honor student is really a pressure nehh~" He opened up.
She nodded, "I can relate to you... But you're also working, right? Isn't it hard to balance both studying and being a celebrity?" She inquired, curiously.
"It's very hard and now that I landed as an honor student during 1st year, my parents are expecting too much from me. I think it's a wrong thing to study that hard..." He pouted.
"Hmm, I hope I can help you in any way..." She said, not intending anything harm and just being a polite person.
His eyes glittered and lips smiled wider, "Of course you can...!"
She looked at him, "Eh?" 'He immediately thought a way for me to help him... how fast!'
"Since you're from Toyo, I strongly presume that you've got a mark of A in all your subjects?" He asked, but seemed to be very sure of the answer.
She nodded, "Hai, but that's normal for our class... There are only two people who did not get all As during our 1st year and that was because they defeated a teacher on a debate. The teacher got badly insulted so she gave them B instead." She said with a humble tone.
"Maji de?!" He blurted out in awe. 'Toyo students are really intelligent and competitive, even with the teachers.'
"What have you thought anyway?" She asked.
"Well, it's actually a favor. I wonder if you can tutor me about my lessons and assignments after classes?" He asked, bearing very cute puppy eyes in front of her.
'Uhh, I think he's overdoing it. He looks irritating and cute at the same time!' Her thoughts shouted. "Tutorial?"
He nodded, still not putting off the 'I-really-need-your-help' look.
'Hmm, he's a celebrity so he entertains people and entertainment is the people's source of relaxation in the midst of a very hectic schedule, inflation of economy, raising prices of the basic necessities in the market and so on. If I help him, it will also mean that I'm helping the entertainment industry of Japan and the Japanese people too.' She held a self-brainstorming activity as Yuto crossed his fingers behind him so she would agree to tutor him.
'I can't let my parents' expectation be put to waste. I'm the eldest son so I won't put the Nakajima family to disgrace by failing any subject!!!' He thought. "Ayako-san, I will comply to anything that you will ask in return for my favor to you." He said with depth.
'Now, he's offering me an opportunity to not just help the country but also a bribe... Bribe? That's a wrong word...' She continued thinking. 'Ahh, maybe just a payment for tutoring him but I won't need money. Maybe I'll just ask him to treat with something, but with what? Cakes? Flower bentos?' Her brows furrowed as she thought harder.
Yuto got worried for the long silence of his companion, "Are you alright Ayako-san?"
"Aha!" She exclaimed. "Ice cream!"
"Ice cream?"
"Yeah! In return of tutoring you after classes, you need to treat me ice cream!!!" She announced.
He nearly put himself out of the bench in surprise of the result of her deep thinking, "Just ice cream. Are you sure?"
She nodded, "Well, you can add more but the main payment is treating me ice cream!" She smiled.
'How simple...' He thought. "Okay! Thank you very much Ayako-san!"
"That's fine Nakajima-kun. I don't usually do anything fruitful after class too, until 6 in the afternoon, so I have much free time. Tutoring you won't be a hassle. It will rather be a great way to use my time."
"YEY!" He exclaimed with delight. "But I'll need your mobile number!"
"Ha? Why?" She looked puzzled.
"My schedule tends to be unpredictable sometimes so I might end up not being able to show up for the tutorial and I need to have your contact number so I can tell you..." He explained while handing his phone to her in order for her to key in her number.
She accepted his phone, "Ahh, okay..." and started to dial her number.
"Here." She returned his phone afterwards.
"Arigatou..."
She suddenly looked pensive, "By the way, where will we hold the tutorial sessions?"
"Oh yeah, that slipped from my mind..." He uttered and started thinking too.
"How about on the library near the hospital?" She suggested. "I've been there and it's not that crowded. I think it's suitable if you don't want to be crowded with fan girls disturbing you while you study."
"I knew that library and I think that's the perfect place too!" He agreed.
She smiled, "So that's the final plan..."
"Hai!" He smiled back.
'Crap, why does he glitters every time I look at him?' She thought as she shifted her gaze from him.
"Ahh, Ayako-san... there's another thing I wanna ask...” He said.
"What is it?" She asked without looking at him.
"Please call me Yuto..."
Her eyes widened. She just realized that she had been calling him with his family name, "Sure Yuto-kun!" She felt her cheeks heated up.
He smiled and sighed afterwards. "What a day...” He muttered under his breath as he looked straight ahead.
That gave her some time to study him, his face, his long arms and the way he smiled like an angel that the heaven sent. 'Soon, this guy will certainly ruin my peaceful life...' She thought as she sighed.
