It was definitely a tough game for VT, but I'm with you about a coach who makes his kids toe the line. Out here, they get a slap on the wrist. It takes multiple, glaring screw-ups (like punching opposing players on national TV) to get suspended for the "season," and then quietly put back in later. Bleh.
Oh yeah, I remember that with the Oregon player. Tsk, tsk...I was SO disappointed when they reinstated him. The Irish did it, too, with one of their receivers. He got into trouble off-season and they first stated he was out for the season, but he was back by the opening game, I think.
But at Michigan, Daryl Stonum got into trouble and he was suspended for the season. And he's /still/ having problems (he was caught driving on a suspended license). The official word is he's still on the team, but continues to be suspended, but we'll see...
*nodnods* I was impressed. As you know, I keep up closely with college football and there's been a lot to be disappointed in lately, so this really stood out to me.
