John... could not believe that Tony Stark was coming to Atlantis. After some necessary Woolsey-browbeating and some even more necessary clearance hoops, Tony was going to power the Stargate from Earth. Meaning that if this plan went off without a hitch (or at least a minor one) then the Atlantis crew could contact and move between Earth and ( Read more... )

Finding a way to harness the output of the Arc Reactor and funnel it towards the Stargate had been no problem. Staying in Wyoming had been the hardest part, but the prospect of visiting an entirely new world had kept Tony buzzing for days. That, and getting his hands on alien technology was like Christmas for the billionaire.

The surface of the gate had posed something of a problem. Not so much a problem, but more of a oh my god they expect me to go THROUGH that...goo?. But, Tony Stark was no flake, and several pre-journey martinis definitley eased any prickling nerves.

So, with several pats on the back, Tony and several huge crates (including one that could have probably maybe definitely held a suit-shaped object) passed through the gate, and into...well...who really knew.

He watched motherfucking IRON MAN Tony Stark spill through the gate in Atlantis, looking vaguely queasy. It was the best thing he'd seen all month.

"Stark!" he said with a wide grin, hand on Tony's arm as they shook hands. "Welcome... to Atlantis."

He always found it best to let the city speak for himself and so he stepped back and motioned for Tony's crates to be taken to his quarters, giving Stark the time to take it all in.

Tony stumbled out of the gate and onto a metal ramp, fairly sure that his head was where his left foot used to be, the reactor in his chest was now in the small of his back, and his entire lower torso was backwards. It was not, thankfully, but his handshake with Colonel Sheppard was less of a friendly gesture, and more of a clutching grasp for reality.

"Glad I didn't eat breakfast..." he muttered, straightening up and adjusting his jacket. The brown leather one and a pair of jeans had seemed the most appropriate for...well, space travel.

Removing his sunglasses, he looked around and let out a low whistle, shaking his head in what was probably the closest he'd ever come to disbelief.

"My god. Would you look at this..."

"It's incredible, right?" he asked excitedly, leading Tony farther away from the gate.

"Ah, yes, the first trip in the wormhole can be a little... jarring." John blinked. "Well, and every subsequent trip, really."
