Why is this journal dated at December 31 2008?

I dated it out of order, so that it stays at the top of my journal. Also, by the time it's 2009, this post won't pertain anymore =D I'll make a new one for next year.

I love Philip Pullman, although I must confess I haven't actually read much of his stuff.

XD Well, the only reason I read His Dark Materials was because I saw the Golden Compass, and a lot of people were saying that the book was so much better.

But I quite liked it, it was a change from a lot of the run of the mill fantasy books.

I haven't seen the movie... I've read the books though and really liked them.

I don't read many fantasy books (especially lately) so I can't really compare.

Don't bother seeing the movie if you've already read the books. It falls very short. And they cut out the end >.>

I think I can see a common theme in the majority of these books! XD

So, are the Doctor Who books any good?

XDD What can I say, I'm obsessed!

They're pretty good... not works of literary genius, but they're a fun read.

Though, I'm totally branching out now and reading something else, coz I've read all the Doctor Who books at my library.

Hmm well, The Infinity Doctors is actually quite a good read, as far as I know it's not supposed to be one particular incarnation of the Doctor but it's still very interesting. Out of the ones I read that are from New Who, they aren't anything spectacular but they are enjoyable enough. Otherwise I just pick up whatever I find at the library no matter which Doctor it is. I suppose it really depends on which era you want to read, if you're a bigger fan of Nine and Ten then the books based on them (there's about 10 novels so far I think) would be a good bet.
