I love Philip Pullman, although I must confess I haven't actually read much of his stuff.

XD Well, the only reason I read His Dark Materials was because I saw the Golden Compass, and a lot of people were saying that the book was so much better.

But I quite liked it, it was a change from a lot of the run of the mill fantasy books.

I haven't seen the movie... I've read the books though and really liked them.

I don't read many fantasy books (especially lately) so I can't really compare.

Don't bother seeing the movie if you've already read the books. It falls very short. And they cut out the end >.>

I hate it when they do that. The books are always better.

Especially considering the best bit of the book was the end. But books are always better, there's more room for detail and stuff.
