oh my god oh my god OH MY GOD

this was BRILLIANT

I was fucking raised on Tom Lehrer and I squeed when I saw the title -- no seriously, I squeed out loud, squiggly fists in front of my mouth and everything, stupid high-pitched fangirly squee -- and it is such a perfect title. And now that I have actually read the fic it's attached to, I am lying here in bed dying inside because everyone is asleep and I have to be quiet and the squees have nowhere to go OH MY GOD IT'S SO AWESOME.

With the, the posturing and the testing and the underlying current of how far is too far? and the constant verbal sparring and then Hal FINALLY loses his temper and lets fly, and can you believe that I was actually sort of rooting for him? He's terrible and mean but really he's still so angry and just sad at everything because the universe's plan is to piss constantly on him. Somehow you still manage to make him a faintly sympathetic character
