I loved that! And I love that you're making a series of these stories too :D

Thanks very much, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I have always wanted to write an ongoing series and this pairing has caught my imagination in a way that it hasn't been caught in a long time. I'm happy to be writing them and I'm happy that you're reading them! :D

*melts* THAT WAS INCREDIBLE. Ffffffffffft oh those boys. Ratigan, trying to deny the love, and Basil, trying to deny the sexy. IS FUTILITY. And Fidget! Gaaaaah I'm terribly disturbed by how readily the image of him humping Basil comes to mind.

The note at the end made me squee so hard. <3

SO MUCH DENIAL. I mean, really, when are they going to come to their senses? XD

Considering YOU'RE the one who invited Fidget in the FIRST PLACE, I'm not surprised at all by how easily you can picture that. ;)

Isn't it the best?? I'm so glad you love the note as much as I do. And of course Basil's going to make a big show of almost tearing it up, before rushing off and hiding it under his pillow or something. XDDD

Ratigan shows Basil the extent of the difference between them. Basil has definatly got stronger since your first story, and Ratigan is starting to admire his strength. Masterful.

I'm so happy to hear that you can see Basil getting stronger over the course of the series--- like I mentioned in my author's notes, I'm really trying to show the evolution of this relationship, so your comment put a big smile on my face. Thanks so much for reading these! I always appreciate your feedback.

Ooooh! I LOVE Ratigan's inner fight and reflections in this! And the kiss! - the faint taste of tobacco and copper - and Basil's neck hairs rising as he reads the note. Mine did too. What a wonderful episode, especially when thinking of the next installment... Agrees with poster above: masterful! <333

Awww, thanks so much, I'm so glad you liked it!! I was really psyched to write a kiss for them, and I'm happy you enjoyed it as much as I did. I'm also tickled to hear about your neck hairs, haha. :D

Ohhhh, I'm really excited for the next installment. And as you can see, your reservations about quality notwithstanding, I was thrilled with your new batch of icons! I just love that sequence so much--- Ratigan manhandling Basil is canon!--- and to have some icons of it is just too, too awesome. Thanks so much. <333

ETA: Your icon is super appropriate! XD

Just saw the cleaned-up icons! They're wonderful, I switched mine over! You're awesome!! <333

Glad you could use them! I also like the ones where Ratigan is hanging over Basils shoulders. Their positions are so telling: Basil's straightness versus Ratigan's predatory slump. The original artists behind this movie are amazingly talented. (Do a search for Glen Keane's work. He'll make your jaw drop.)

So.

Last night, I fell asleep like a paragraph into this. I'm ashamed to admit my exhaustion made me not read.

HOWEVER.

I just finished it now, and OMG. Just. Holy fucking hell. That was amazing! Not that I ever doubted that, but you know. And like anneka_neko, I'm disturbed at how easy it is to picture Fidget humping Basil. ^^;; And I love the tiny hints into Ratigan's past. Also his mental debate. *squees*

It's brilliant! <3

Awww, poor little sleepy! I'm glad you got your rest. I'd rather you read while completely awake and alert, anyway. XD

It's just really easy to take Fidget to a really dark place, isn't it? There's just something about him! And it's funny, while I was writing it, I was like, "that's nasty, I hope it doesn't turn people off the series," and here everyone loves it. I love you guys. XD

The longer the series goes on, the deeper I'd like to go in exploring the characters's pasts. After all, Ratigan wasn't always a kingpin, and Basil wasn't always a famous detective. They had to have started somewhere, whether as a petty thug (I can see young Ratigan working as somebody's "muscle") or a disliked vigilante (before they respected him, I'll bet the police thought Basil was a pain in the ass).

As always, your icon is super appropriate. Thanks so much for reading and commenting! I'm so happy that you're still loving these stories. <3

XD Vietnamese is kicking my ass so hard. I slept 9 hours last night, and I'll be going to bed early tonight, too.

Fidget is a dark place. ;) He's certainly not all there, and seeing how that could play out is interesting. And we love you, too! You're just as pervy and terrible as the rest of us. <3

I have this little theory that Basil used to be on the force and showed all sorts of promise, but went a little off over the "one that got away;" i.e., Ratigan. And it ended with him off the force because he seriously let it drive his actions more than it should have, and he kept screwing up the other officer's standoffs and vigils and the like. And he became sort of a joke, but as time went on and he stopped being quite so manic about it all, they realised oh, wait, he's still damn good at what he does.

:D I adore them so much! Thanks for writing this! <3

Ooooo, I really like your Basil backstory! I love that we both imagine him being generally disliked before people figured out that he knew what he was doing. I'm a sucker for a man in uniform, though-- maybe I could borrow your idea of him being on the force? I'm just picturing Basil in a little bobby's helmet and it makes me melt. <333
