“Peek A Boo!” Jared cries as he uncovers his face and smiles at Noah. Noah looks at him, taken aback for a little bit, before laughing excitedly and squealing in delight. He waves his arms about in glee, waiting for the tickling to come. And Jared delivers, dexterous fingers tickling the baby’s protruded stomach and under his arms. And Noah just giggles some more. He is adorable Jensen thinks, though which he he’s talking about, Jensen’s not too sure.
Jensen watches his husband and eleven month old with affection and amusement. And some exasperation.
“Jay, you’re gonna scare the poor boy. Getting in his face like that with your huge mug.” Jensen remarks wryly.
“Oh hush, he’s laughing isn’t he?” Jared asks and then starts to coo in baby talk, “Aren’t you Noah? Yes you are. You like peek a boo don’t you baby?”
Jensen just shakes his head, because Jared’s right. Even though Noah looks a bit scared at first, he giggles adorably and peek a boo is the only way they can get him to eat. Noah is one fussy eleven month old. With food at least. He doesn’t cry much, thankfully, but he doesn’t like eating, which is definitely a surprise with someone like Jared as a dad. As Jensen likes to remark a lot, which leads to a pouting Jared and Jensen having to make it up to him.
But besides the whole eating issue, Noah is a good baby, their baby. He’s giggly and affectionate and his walk is adorable. He wobbles a little and every few steps he looks up at his daddies, making sure they’re watching his great feat. And then he grins, gurgling a little, before walking a little more.
Peek a boo is definitely one of Noah’s favorite games though, the fear apparently part of it. And even if Jensen mocks, he’s privately in love with how father and son play with each other, all casual affection and comfort and love.
