The word I got from my meme was Quench, and this is what came of it so far...pretty minimalistic, but fiddling with the word sparked some interesting dreams.

Tonight I saw a woman who had no nose. Just a bandage covering the very flat place in the middle of her face. I'm guessing she was in her sixties, but she might have been younger than she looked...cancer might have accounted for her feeble appearance as much as age. So...for my Poetics of Space workshop, one of the final projects will be to arrange a selection of revised pieces together in a chapbook. Our poems will have already been graded, I'm guessing, so the grade depends far more on our arrangement and unifying concept. It's still early, but I'm toying with a couple of ideas.
