"Pull Shapes" started a huge fight in our vehicle one night. I was driving the kids home after work, the song came on and I mistakenly said to my then 2 year daughter, "Hey Nora, this is a really cool 'Girl Song!'"

Owen, then 5, said, "No way! I hate girl stuff."
Nora responded with, "Louder."
I turned it up a bit.
"Too Loud!!"
"LOUDER!!"
"TOO LOUD!!"
"LOUDER!!!"
Owen then started freaking, thrashing and kicking the back of my chair. Nora started crying. I turned the song off, Nora screamed some more.
Owen yelled, "I HATE THAT SONG!!"
Nora wanted it back on. More screaming. More tears. ughh. Not the best commute home.

This all would've been avoided had the song been on tv and performed as you suggest by Muppets.

1) Cookie Monster - "Me Lost Me Cookie at the Disco" - It's a perfect pop song that absolutely nails every cliche of the disco era (shifting to the minor key for the back-up singers interudes is totally inspired), but it must be heard on the CD version and not the "Street" video for the spoken intro ( ... )

"I understand dat, but you don't ooga-chacka while I'm singing. It throws me off."

Ah, Johnny and Sal. It's a shame Muppets Tonight! didn't last longer. I blame Clifford.

Of course. Sesame Street has been cooler than cool in recent years, after all. Neil Patrick Harris as the shoe fairy? Feist doing a version of her best-known song that's significantly better? All good.
