Yes, being a beer snob I've always been horrified by Jack's choice of beer for Daniel's wake. I rationalize that he's so distraught by Daniel's demise (see car window smashing as additional proof), that he's out of his mind, thus leading to the purchase of piss.
Jack has bottles of Guinness in Lost City, but then cans again in Full Alert (two cases of Heineken, presumably for poker night) and back to bottles in Citizen Joe (presumably for his world-famous beer omelet). I am only slightly disturbed that I know this off the top of my head.
I figure Daniel took some (a lot) of his parents' stuff out of storage when he came back to earth. It was probably the first time he'd been able to afford an apartment big enough.
at the wake, Jack pours Sam a beer out of a can. I am HORRIFIED. Dude, at least get the stuff in bottles! Daniel deserved better than to be toasted with bad American lager out of a can.
Colorado is Coors headquarters.... Where I live people only drink from one of the hundreds of microbreweries around, but I feel like the Springs sees a lot more Coors. Also, I don't like beer so I can't speak from experience, but there's one local microbrewery (Dale's Pale Ale or something) that cans instead of bottles and the beer snobs all think it's surprisingly good.
True. I really don't know what beer snobs consider the better of the low-end beers (Coors vs. Bud vs. Miller) in that respect, but I know a lot of people are often loyal to the one which is brewed within their state (no clue how much Jack thinks of Colorado as home).
But, yeah, So Very Many Microbreweries. Avery. Fat Tire. The other ones...
