That said, I was surprised that they were both panting after escaping from the mess hall: Sam is absolutely in way better shape than Rodney is, so wtf?
Well, they were both sick-- we know that the amnesia sickness makes you dizzy etc., and *eventually* puts you flat on your back in a hospital bed, so, maybe Sam was either just getting over that part or pretty close to getting to that part. Plus, everyone looked pretty sweaty after a while. Maybe they were feverish too.
Well, I'm still cranky about the murder plot. But since we're stuck with it, I'm not hating what they're doing with it. So long as they stay away from the Oversized Drama, it might work.
Yes, Rachel Luttrell is pregnant. They're doing better so far than they did with wassname on Numb3rs, who they've shot carrying a bowl of popcorn through the FBI offices, or Gillian Anderson (coats! Lots of coats!), but I don't expect that to last.
You're omitting the horrible alien probe thing they did to Anderson. The amnio from hell.
Gah, I had nightmares about that shit when I was pregnant. Repeatedly. And it was probably ten years ago that I saw it.
They repeated the trick, more or less, with Cordelia on Angel...sheesh, could we just once have an actress get pregnant and NOT give birth to a hideous alien/monster/hellspawn? Babies are really not the end of the world....
I don't quite understand why the bacteria had to mutate;
I thought it was because the expedition would have had encountered the regular version if it is a common childhood illness in Pegasus and been exposed to it already, so it would have made no sense for them to get all suddenly sick now.
Hmm, so they were exposed to the other version but for some reason didn't get sick (perhaps their current immunities work on it?), but this one did. And it didn't get Ronon and Teyla because they'd had the other version before. Hmm.
Well, supposedly this one is more aggressive. I figure it's like cowpox and smallpox, living through one conveys protection from the other. But maybe the milder childhood illness isn't infectious and aggressive enough to even infect healthy adults just the less developed immune systems of children (hence Teyla said it doesn't affect adults, that doesn't have to mean all adults lived through it as children), so expedition won't get the benefits of the milder disease.
I enjoyed SGA TR so much better than the previous week's, which I mostly skimmed and forgot instantly afterward. Re: Sam's hair/clothes, I agree - it seemed distracting.
Do you think they'll handle Rachel Luttrell's pregnancy any better than AT's or CB's? Not a good track record, these folks.
I'm piling up Dexter like you're doing with Heroes, as I'm more invested in the former. Heroes is lovely popcorn, like Chuck and Dirty Sexy Money.
Haven't started Charlie Jade yet, but I did watch the first season of Hex recently. That was pretty interesting, with Jemima Rooper giving a good turn as Thelma.

Well, they handled AT's by not showing us. Which worked out okay, all things considered; if they'd tried to come up with a story-related way to account for her pregnancy the fandom would likely have exploded. CB's was not handled well, though. And I'm concerned by RL's because of some spoilery stuff I've heard. I shall say no more.
