I'm sort of with you in this. I always seem to know what is going on, but I've been less and less willing to get "involved". I hate this sort of business because it doesn't involve me, yet it seems to invade portions of my life. As far as I'm concerned, Erica made her decision and that's the way it is. I don't need to have an opinion about it because "it is what it is". Erica's a friend and I respect her decisions. Julie is also a friend, but one who has grown very distant - she hasn't contacted me in months - so I don't know what's going on there, but all I can do is take things for where they are right now and no worry about the rest. Sure, I could come up with lots of theories why things happen, but why? Will it change anything? Will I just be stirring the pot for my own enjoyment ( ... )

It was lovely!

My best friend always told me that people come in and out of your life for a reason. (See the Wicked song "For Good). They fill a need and / or a void in your life that helps you come out a better person. These people aren't always a positive influence but not always negative either.

I look at my relationships with them in fondness but also as an experience that helped me to grow.

Also, I found that you and I are library workers who are (at least I am) a good 10 or more years younger than our co-workers.
