There may or may not be a colored version in the works.
ps. I thought I saw that I could link to my LJ in the comments. If I read this incorrectly, I'll post it directly here. Also, you forgot to put up reference links in the original post.

I didn't put reference pictures up because I was actually posting from work, and sometimes I tend to get tetchy when images are involved just in case. I will modify that ASAP. :D
Um, you are made of awesome, and I love your picture.

I did end up coloring it. http://kimouski.livejournal.com/48385.html#cutid2

BTW YOU ARE UP NEXT.
AND I AM IN AWE OF YOU DOING THAT ON THE TABLET. I HAVE NOT YET ATTEMPTED TO DRAW VIA TABLET. *is scared*

When I draw freehand (i.e. on PAPER), I make all kinds of happy little guidelines which help me fit body-parts and proportions and draw the face right and all of that. And for some reason, when I draw on the tablet, the guidelines ARE DOING IT WRONG. I try to do the same damn thing that I do freehand, but they just DO NOT turn out the same way! And thus all my proportions and stuff are off. I drew like 800 scary faces before I finally made that one look semi-OK.
I don't know why this is! I mean, I know my tablet skills are lacking, so I assume that's why. But I'm doing the same basic circles-shapes-things and it just IS NOT RIGHT. WHAT THE HELL.
Anyway that is tl;dr on my tablet.

Hmm. I like the jaunty pose and arch of the neck--not sure if you were aiming for that, but it's the quirk of the hip and lean toward the right that does it for me. I think you're working toward a natural style, but haven't unburied it yet. If I had to guess, it's more cartoony than anime-ish--which isn't a bad thing at all.
Sorry this comment was late!
