Back from Cyprus (wreck diving was awesome, and there was even an Achilles wreck that I had to check out because, you know, Classics geek). Once again the M25 proved it is truly a creation of evil. Flying time from Cyprus to London Heathrow = 4hrs 30 mins. Driving time from London Heathrow to home = 5hrs 12 mins. Why does a one hour journey take so ( Read more... )

It's a baby (at the moment) ball python. According to its proud owner, it's named Twiglet because it has a Twiglet-shaped mark just behind its head. It's kind of cute at the moment. God knows how big it's going to get though.

But the wreck diving must have been amazing.

Oh yeah. There was a real moment of It had better not be anywhere near me or my bed right now, before it was found.

Yes, 47. Apprently it's the hottest it's been in Cyprus in 150 years. (It was all over the news.) What can I say? I picked my holiday time well. XD

The wreck diving was so much fun, except for two days in a row when at one of the dive sites there was a serious surge current, even 15 feet down, so getting past it was a nausea-inducing experience. D:

I'm glad you made it home okay (if exhausted) and the snake was recovered. One of my college housemates had a snake that escaped. We were not supposed to have pets at all. I was slightly terrified when I found out a boa constrictor (even a small one) was loose in our house.

I AM JEALOUS OF THE ACHILLES WRECK. How was it? TELL ME THINGS TO MAKE ME MORE JEALOUS.

This was a small ball python. I may have had a moment of a baby PYTHON OMGWTF ARRRGH before I calmed down. It's growing freaksihly fast though. D:

The Achilles wreck was SHINY. Sadly it wasn't ancient (1960's) but the name was awesome. But, but, but, there was this cave 16 metres below sea level that had Roman amphorae embedded in the ceiling so you could swim through it and look at all the shiny archaeology! :D And just to make you even more jealous there was an Alexander the Great hotel on the island, and it had statues and maps and murals and it was awesome, but I didn't stay there. XD

lol Snakes can be horrible creatures of habit as to where they end up when they escape confinement. One of my girls escaped five times in the course of six months and each time she found her way into the couch, which is clear over on the other side of the house. :/

Anyway, glad your trip was safe and sorry that you haz a sick. XP

I think the snake was just looking for somewhere warm to park itself. I'm hoping it's not going to get out again though.

Thank you. The cold of doom is clearing up now.:D

Twiglet is an insanely adorable name. Even if it's for a snake.

I'm glad you had a good time (jeesly hot weather aside, I personally can't handle it being 25 degrees, but I suppose I'd stick it out for various wrecks, ruins and sights) and I hope you're feeling better.

I suspect it's based on the foodstuff (twiglets), which takes some of the cute out of it, but it's not a bad little (for now) snake.

Thank you. I love the heat and being under the sea a lot of the time helped, so it wasn't so bad. :)
