And now for something completely different: actually, no, I lied...

Firstly, some pondering. As I was bashing out the last bit of Boyfriend Blues (soon to be hot off the Satyrica press, which means I can then post it here), something wonderful happened to me. A plot bunny bit me. Damn it. Just to clarify - Reames, in her PHD thesis on Hephaistion ( Read more... )

Junjou Romantica episodes *gushes* I'm actually more of a fan of the subplot, Junjou Egoist. The couple in there is sweeter, and there's tons of flangst, which is a kink for me. The main couple in Junjou Romantica is all wrong, there's too much dub-con. I've actually started reading the manga to it, cause I'm impatient for the episodes.

And...*pets plot bunny* The one that visited you seems like the fluffy intelligent type...

Oh, I'm in total agreement with you on the main couple of Romantica. I think it's the fact that it's such a stereotypical BL relationship. That and the uke is so...uke-y. XD I don't know, for some reason wimpy ukes who look like little(ish) boys never really interest me much. Gimme an uke who looks older and stands up to the seme, says I! So, all that said I'm also with you on the Egoist front - they're both far more interesting, and you can never go wrong with angst. Ditto on the manga as well. I can't wait a week/week and a half fir the subbed episodes, damnit!

It's a vampiric plot bunny I tell you. It's steadily eating away at my soul with its evil intentions.

Glad I'm not alone in the not-too-fond-of-Romantica feelings. As I mentioned above, I think it's the super uke-y uke, more than anything else. Egoist just...appeals to me for some reason. I can't really give any firm reason why. Possibly because I have yet to meet the Terrorist characters - in which case, stand by for what is not doubt going to be more 'OMG that is so much love'. Sadly I have no Japanese skills at all, so I'm forced to rely on Aarinfantasy and the delights of forking out all my hard-earned wages on licensed manga. *Woe* (And you're definitely not a sad, sad fangirl - unpopular pairings FTW! ;D )

Oh how I wish I could believe it was down to the generous nature of others that such a thing has not been done. But I have the sneaking suspicion it's because no one is insane enough to try anything so blatantly idiotic as sleuth!Hephaistion. (Yes it's a pain, but yes you got it right. I always type 'Hepahstion' for some reason, and have to correct myself. *Headdesk*)Excellent. The GGRL sprang up as I was thinking of clearing ( ... )

And on a quick note, I'm quite tempted to do a 'Good Gay Reading List' for you all. Anyone want that?

Yes please!

I'm very excited to read Boyfriend Blues! It sounds really interesting, and I'd definitely like to hear your thoughts on it~ The theory about Hephaistion being the equivalent of the America's First Lady is also amusing (I cracked up when I read that term :P), but it's something that I can truly see happening. *feeds your plot bunny* Hop to it! :3

I've never seen or read Junjou Romantica. Any good? :D

Moonstone, yay! *glee*

I would be very happy if you would compile a "Good Gay Reading List" for us all. xD Or anything else that you think is good, interesting reading.
