OMG! I totally used to write fic in the SW Expanded universe! Haven't read yet, too excited to see this blast from the past! Will comment further!

I did too, but I think I was something like twelve then so we shall never speak of it again! :D Anything I'd be interested in reading, though? =)

Maybe? They were my first fan fic attempts, somewhat older than twelve at the time and the two long stories are unfinished. There's a link to the stories on my journal page. They are all kinda fluffy except for "Best Intentions", which is undoubtedly the best written but not near complete.

Heh, everyone I find in fandom seems to have shipped Jaina/Kyp! I suspect that a decade later, my shipping preferences may change (I've never been much of a Kyp fan to begin with, no matter how open a mind I've been keeping on this reread. But that might just be KJA's writing. :/).

Oh Lord, how I loved that. I've not picked up a Star Wars book in many years but did this ever take me right back to Heir to the Empire and all my deep Star Wars love. You nailed this. Shada/Karrde wasn't a ship I focused on but it would have been exactly like this. Loved it. Absolutely loved it.

I just started rereading the books a few weeks ago! The Zahn trilogy has aged nicely, though there are others I'm reading now that make me shudder and wonder how such awful books exist in the same verse, lol.

And thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed some nostalgia! :)

I can't stand the Kevin J Anderson stories, and there are more than a few I can live without. Zahn's books I adore. I loved the pre-series Han Solo trilogy, and the Rogue Squadron books. Most of my fic was set in the NJO arc, though not all of the happenings there appealed to me. Pretty much everything after NJO I pretend does not exist.

Same~ The awful books I was referring to were actually KJA's, lol! (And I'm wading through a Barbara Hambly book now that's pretty bad.) I also loved those, especially all of Allston's X-Wing books, and there are a couple of others I tolerate...but mostly I'm reading them all so I can finally start rereading the NJO. I tried reading a couple of books after that, but they got progressively worse until I gave up on the rest altogether. :/

Hi, here from jedi_news, and I really enjoyed this - I'd not reread any of the books since publication, but this is the way I'd picture their story together.

He fears that he’ll lose more than he can afford to surrender then. Very nice depiction of the feelings that successful people get, that somehow a relationship will spoil something, or end something, and yet go on to gamble with their lives ... /cosmic view of things,ha!

Oh, I love this! I can't explain it, but the mood you create through your style kind of reflects the repression of their feelings? Like it's almost detatched except there's something underneath it? I know I'm not verbalizing this right, but this seems so very them and so the way it must be. It's been years and years since I read these books and yet you gave me feelings!
