I've recently taken over as GM of a local pub. There were some younger people working over the summer holidays under the previous guy in charge, and they all left once school started up again in September. policies, changes at work, nice try but no cigar, young ppl today, smooth move ex-lax, usurping, cell phone no-no, undermining, attitude problem, promotion, who do you think you are?!, not being taken seriously, entitlement, phones, funny, you're fired, you're not helping, retail: bar / pub, freaking out over nothing, manipulation, inappropriate, your mom doesn't work here!, making it up as they go along, it's not all about you, rudeness, management, seriously?

Her daughter had had lots of other offers that she'd turned down for us!

If places randomly call her daughter up and offer her jobs, then she just needs to wait a bit, doesn't she?

Well, I suppose she might have applied for a bunch of jobs, without any intention of accepting them.
