I am an office manager for a handful of of restaurants of a fast-food chain. It is my responsibility to not only make sure that the office runs smoothly but that the managers of said restaurants get everything they need. I work my ass off doing this. Most of the managers and assistant managers respect me to some small degree.
Is there something wrong with me or something? One of the assistant managers walks into the office and hands me a bunch of envelopes, each with a name of a manager, assistant manager, or administrative staff on it. She asks if I can make sure that everyone gets their letters. Cheerfully, like I always do, I say, "sure thing!"
Later I realize that these letters are wedding invitations to her wedding. Everyone got one but me. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, considering that I don't particularly like this girl and probably wouldn't go to her wedding if I did get an invitation, but to make a point to me that EVERYONE got one and to make ME, the ONLY one that didn't get one, responsible for handing out HER invitations!!!!
Am I the only one that sees something wrong with this? Because everyone else I've talked to thinks this isn't a big deal. Maybe I'm overly sensitive or something, I dunno. I just wish someone would say, "that ain't right!" and sympathise with me. It's not like I've ever been rude to this girl, not that I can recall. There are people that got an invitation that she's never, ever worked with before. *sigh*
