I realized this morning that I should have updated after my last post; my whole mouth hurt like crazy for four or five days after that last one. Adding the brackets on my rear molars added more torque or something to the rest of the teeth in my mouth. It wasn't fun, but after that initial pain, there wasn't much difference ( Read more... )

This one was easy. They didn't change the wire, just replaced the little ligature bands on the brackets. It doesn't even feel much tighter, which is a little irritating because I am impatient. It's also nice because I'm hungry and really want to eat tonight ( Read more... )

Well, the pain is mostly gone now; though eating too much does make my teeth a little sore. The biggest problem right now with eating is that my bite is completely jacked. Nothing lines up, and there's a contact point between upper and lower molars on the right side that happens WAY before anything else touches. If I'm not careful, that can hurt a ( Read more... )

I've been feeling a little discouraged about my teeth because there haven't been any noticeable changes in several weeks. For my first adjustment, they didn't change the archwire, just replaced the little bands that secure it. This time, they've put in a heavier gauge, square wire. Right. So, the deed is done. Or at least begun. I have brackets on all but seven of my teeth, and archwires connecting those brackets. My last molars, upper/lower, both sides, do not have brackets yet. The orthodontist said we'll put those on after four or five adjustments. The other three without brackets are the doomed teeth.
