HP book 7

Jul 23, 2007 09:27

Remember how I was going to chapter my comments and whatnot?  Well, I read for about 4 hours Saturday night and 4-5 hours Sunday, and finished it.

I really enjoyed this book.  I loved that there was a real blowup between Harry and Ron -- it had been coming for so long.  I was sad that Hermione got caught up in the middle of it, but that was as ( Read more... )

Neville Longbottom, I love you. I'm not sure that any of Dumbledore's Army has a heart greater than yours or more courage.

Stop it, I can't be crying at work.

The lack of a fight at the end was indicative of his bravery, I think, but I thought it was below his dignity.

I'm just upset that Voldemort never knew he had been betrayed. I would have like to see him realize how much Snape and Dumbledore had played him.

Mrs. Malfoy is names Narcissa.

I can't wait until we're to the point where I can get an awesome book 7 Neville icon. I think I'll have to go looking for one that expresses my love in general.

But Voldemort did know he'd been betrayed -- Harry told him all about it at the end. Granted, we didn't get much reaction from Voldemort, but it was there.

I need an icon of Neville that says, Neville Longbottom, I love you, because, you know, I do.

I agree with most of what you said. I read it marathonly, too. Couldn't be spoiled and couldn't put it down for long once I started.

I thought it was a great, fitting end to an era. It couldn't have ended any other way. I liked the twist with the wands. Loved Ron, loved Hermione, loved Dobby, loved Neville. I didn't care for the epilogue, I wanted more of what everyone was doing now, besides having kids. I firmly believe that McGonagall is Head of Hogwarts. I wanted to know how they have applied what they learned from all this.

I'm sad it's over, but looking forward to how the movies are handled.

I need that same icon. I'm going to have to go searching, I think.

Did you hear that JKR is planning to do an 'encyclopedia' that is supposed to give tidbits about what a lot of the characters are doing post DH? (As well as some backstories). yay!

I am curious how they'll be able to do this final book in a movie that isn't 9,000 hours long.

No, I didn't hear that about JKR! I hope it's soon!

Me too! I've been digging up everything I can find about HP in articles and stuff. I guess it's my newest obsession.

I really loved this book. I think that it was extremely well done.

I agree about Neville, I was very impressed with who he had become, that he had finally found what he was I guess, for lack of words 'cause I am tired, meant to do.

I have a newfound respect for Snape than I have in the past. I was too overcome with anger in the last book to possibly see that he was still on the side of good.

I was so sad that Fred died. *sigh* I was hoping that all of the Weasley's would make it out all right...

I need to upload some Neville icons.

For that matter, I kinda want a Snape icon or two, also.

I just remembered that I had some of these HP posts saved because I was still reading the book at the time everyone was posting their reviews. So I am replying to them now 'cause I just remembered about them, lol.

I completely agree about the Ron and Harry blow up. It was a long time coming and I thought it was done really well.

I was also sad when Mad-eye died. And I also liked that Harry stole his eye from Umbridge.

About the silver doe... I also kept wondering about it. Then I had a silly thought that maybe Lily somehow sent it, LOL. But I was surprised to find out it was from Snape. After that everything fell into place.

Agreed with what you said about Dobby and Kreacher.

Fred's death also got me sniffly. I was shocked when I read he died, but when I read about Lupin and Tonks... yeah. That was even worse. I was surprised when I found out who Abeforth was.

Neville does rock. I wonder what happened to his grandma though. I can't remember if it was said what happened to her or not, lol.

which I kept counting, and ( ... )
