At last, R.E.M.

It's taken ten years, but on Saturday I finally got around to seeing R.E.M. live, at the rescheduled Hyde Park date that was originally meant to be last weekend. It was an awesome gig (thanks also to wetsleeve's company), and served to reinforce the fact that R.E.M. are still my favourite band. The only real downside was the wait for a coach home afterwards ( Read more... )

Feeder used to be excellent, I miss those days :( They've always been good live, but recently their music has become middle of the road and it's all started to blur together...

...Sorry I tried but I can't hold this in - the Zutons are incredible live!!!!!!! Sorry.

People keep telling me this. Plus I like their album anyway. So it was all set to be a prime example of awesomeness, which is why I was so disappointed when they couldn't make the new date. Dammit.

Still, at least R.E.M. kicked butt.

:P I really wish I'd pulled my finger out to get tickets to one of their shoshows, but I prefer smaller venues and REM just don't do them...

Yeah, I know what you mean. One of the reasons it took me so long to see R.E.M. was that what I really wanted was to see them in a small venue in the mid-to-late eighties or perhaps early nineties, when they were at their peak, and when Bill Berry was still in the band.

Eventually, though, I just had to get over that and see them before they retire or something! I'm glad I've done it at last, and now I'm just annoyed I didn't see them sooner.
