Maybe in a state as large as Arizona, we should have more than one way to get across it? So that, say, if some jackass gets in an accident on I-10, it doesn't shut down all travel to and from the southern parts of the state? Just sayin'
You can take SR-77 to SR-79 through Casa Grande which meets up with the 60 in Phoenix. There are alternate routes to almost everywhere in AZ, but they are slower and more roundabout so no one takes them. I-10 is just so much easier (without accidents).
That's kindof my point though. The alternatives aren't useful and so no one uses them, crowding I-10 and I-17. I was stuck in a particular area outside Phx but before Casa Grande, so there was nothing to do but sit there. Obviously that happens sometimes, but it happens often enough that it gets you thinking ...
My mom and I got stuck around the New River outlets once for 2 hours because of a seriously bad van turnover on I-17 just as it was opening up. Made it a 5 hour drive to get to Phx. Not cool.
Other than that, it was totally fun to see you guys this weekend!
