My Series 3 wish!

Dec 29, 2011 16:37

This is a little bit random. I apologise. And it may sound slightly broken-record-ish of me. But, oh well!

So having now seen the proposal, and with many people hoping to see the wedding in Series 3, I'm going to add my tuppence and say that... what I'd really, really love to see, is something - anything - a moment! - prelude, aftermath, anything - ( Read more... )

This is awesome, because it's basically our "M/M should be the sex scene!" argument, but in the context of a WEDDING NIGHT...OMG, that WOULD be amazing. :D

Yes and yes!! See, we were right after all... We just got the timing wrong!! Ugh.. It's just SO meaningful. I can't even. To be their wedding night just makes it TEN TIMES MORE SO.

From a story context, I'm kind of not sure why we saw A/B's wedding night.

No, exactly!! So if we were shown that... With no apparent meaning to it... M/M would just be so much more rewarding to see ( ... )

Amen! I love all your reasoning. When it all comes down to it, my desire for Fellowes to give us this scene is a simple call for justice and right: if I had to sit through the exquisitely uncomfortable Anna/Bates post-coital scene (complete with fleshy shoulder and comments about having had their way with each other), I sure as hell deserve to see something similar from M/M. Except that Matthew most certainly should NOT have the covers pulled up to his shoulders ( ... )

I read on Huff Post UK that Fellowes will not be sexing up any of the relationships in series 3.

Bah, really?? Do you have an article link?

I just hope we get SOMETHING. Even something very chaste. Robert/Cora have a whole pot of bedroom scenes where they're just in bed together, not even doing anything - that's all I'm asking for! I would literally be flipping out everywhere if we saw them in bed together, even perfectly innocently!! We've seen them individually in their nightclothes a fair few times, so... Surely it's not asking much to see them now together in their nightclothes! (Or.. Y'know... NOT in them...) :P

Because, let's face it, M and M would not stand for a lengthy engagement.

Nope. They would not. My hope is taken from the fact that we'll know S3 starts quite soon after... And the impact of opening with a wedding is just too wonderful a chance to pass up on!!

We saw Bates and Anna get married AND in bed, so... Pretty please Fellowes with a cherry on top!!

Oh yes, I want them to be the next Robert and Cora, discussing any number of sexless topics in bed throughout the series. It would be sexy and wonderful to me :)

Here's the link you asked for: Huff Post

M/M is Fellowes' pet relationship, so how could he NOT give us a little something? How about the series opening with "you may kiss the bride" ...

If we get the wedding, I'd like the opening scenes of the servants rushing around opening the house for the day to be replaced by everyone rushing around preparing for the wedding, leading up to Mary in her room in her wedding dress....but they'd need to differentiate it from the scenes of the pre M/L wedding.

I totally agree and you're right, it doesn't need to be Last Tango in Paris, just the suggestion of desire and intimacy and big smiles and a spring in their step the next day ( ... )

I'm always utterly befuddled when people say they have no chemistry. Are they watching the same show? These two together should/will melt TV screens and set houses on fire.

This. Absolutely. They ooze chemistry, they are steaming - and you're totally right, every kiss so far (Ha! Every! We can say that, now!! They have three! Eeee!) has been very chaste. Siiiigh...

Ooh I hope that wedding portrait gets drawn - what a fabulous idea!!

Good grief, do people actually say that?!?! Utter blasphemy.

The thing this post made me realise (apart from how totally right you of course are) is that in S02 Matthew's sex life became (at least temporarily) as important as Mary's and as public as Mary's will be. To quote Elizabeth Bennet, "So far we are equal." If anyone can understand on a personal level what it's like to have the very intimate details of your life and lifestyle scrutinised, it's Matthew.

I'm all about the sex! tripp3235 December 29 2011, 21:41:25 UTC
Yes, I think it VERY important to have it. Their kisses, which I loved, I'd like to show a little more intimacy. (Is there no tongue in England?) Actually I'm irritated the biggest kisses we've seen were between Robert and Jane (gross).

Anyway, I completely agree. Mary's sexual experience has been bad, even if Pamuk didn't die I doubt she enjoyed it. And Matthew's penis has been the subject of discussion even by the characters themselves, not just the fans! I betcha anything Dan Stevens may want to make it especially clear his character is more than up for the task.
