Every time I come back to this, I have to wonder how he managed to get your name without knowing how it was spelled.

Oh, we've emailed back and forth and he's seen my names many times; it's just been months since the last time we communicated. I myself am curious about why Koreans and Japanese have trouble reproducing a word with L's and R's in the right place when it would just be a matter of memorizing the spelling (which is how anyone learns that part of English, really). I can only guess their minds focus more on learning and remembering things by the sound more than in writing because English spelling can be so counterintuitive.
