ok so i looked up the Thai millitary structure and i can't find a rank or anything relatedt to "Pol." but i'm thinking it has to be police. i can't find Thai police ranks, but Thailand has a paramillitary police force. their police is pretty hardcore by western standards, they have armored vehicles and assault rifles and stuff like that. The southern Islamic areas of Thailand, the land bridge leading to Malaysia, have been rebeling against northern and buddhist rule since the 16th century and at various periods of Thai history (including very recently) the police have been the primary instrument of Thailand's national government's control in the south.

which begs a another question, keeping in mind there was just a millitary coup in Thailand why is this guy now applying to CELOP? Maybe he's not freinds with the new government.
