Computer Problems Continue...and So Do Tasty Vegetables

Yesterday, Cvalenti* opened up my computer and prepared to install the new power source to make my computer capable of booting up again.

Alas, it turns out that the problem was not the power source, but the CPU fan. So we ordered the part and it should be here by UPS soonish. Unfortunately, then my computer decided to stop staying on or booting up ( Read more... )

I feel your pain. My wife's desktop needs a new CPU fan as well. I've been putting it off until employed, but plan on trying to get her a new fan/heatsink soon, now.

I had already bought a chip fan for it, but the heatsink didn't fit the socket, and the fan didn't fit the old heatsink. I need to be able to go into a store and match it. While there are computer stores here, there isn't a convenient one. There is one near where we're moving.

Also, she's still got her netbook for surfing and facebooking, and can use my laptop for the few things her netbook won't do.
