First we take Manhattan, then they take Livejournal.

Meh.

Not going to go all apeshit omgapocalypse (twice in one day, eofa!) about it, though I will be annoyed as hell that I paid for a permanent account. I've gotten my monthly fee equivalent out of what I paid for it, but still. I guess I'll do the whole archive thing when I get home. If ( Read more... )

Yeah. =/

I'm just gonna back mine up for now, not going to spazz out about it or anything, but dang. I hope things manage to stay afloat long enough to pass through this.

HAHAHA. no... I'm apparently just EXTREMELY unobservant, for I did not see the link, or recognize it as one, something in my brain wasn't working at that point. Doh. :-P

I do still miss Holly though. That was the main reason I commented. HOLLYYYYEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! *hugs Atreyu shirt and pink chuck taylors and the many things that remind me of holly b/c she gave them to me or made them for me, sigh*

That release doesn't say much either once you decode the corporate speak.

Well, really, who knows? Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and AIG and the Big Three aren't going anywhere either. Probably. Maybe. Sort of. I guess. Are they? Maybe? Death and taxes, you know.

In the meantime, it doesn't hurt to back up the journal archive as a precaution. *shrug*

Also, I hope my entry wasn't one of those you considered "panicking." It was hardly anything but passing along a heads-up and a bit of meandering about "what if, oh, hm, guess I should back up the LJ."

After working in the legal industry I try not to expend too much energy predicting the outcomes of business decisions.

It's not nearly as feature rich as LJ, but you always have a home at JournalScape. :)

I highly recommend WordPress. It installs in like three steps and RSS functionality is automatically built in. I didn't do anything to set up RSS for my blog, it just worked out of the box. WP also supports RSS for comments, if you allow comments. You can register a domain for about $10 and get hosting (like at Dreamhost) for $5-$10/month, depending on how far in advance you pay; or you can be hosted at wordpress.com (few ads in the free version, no ads for a fee).

I'm totally in love with WordPress ;)
