Survived

Well, we survived the holidays.

Actually, things were very mellow. I had nearly two weeks off, few obligations, and lots of hobbies to pursue. We went to a party or two, and threw one of our own, hosted my mom for a few days, and generally slouched about in our pajamas.

On New Year's Day we hosted a brunch*, with a nice mix of new and old friends

The upholstery class sounds interesting. I should look into local stuff like that. It would be good to make/restore things myself.

It is IMMENSELY satisfying to have things in my life that are the work of my own hands. Of course, I've been practicing awhile - but the upholstery projects were a completely new thing for me. The class(es) took away 90% of the terror of trying something new...
