It's only two days later when a familiar footstep falls outside his door.

"Don't worry," she prefaces, grinning shyly. "I didn't break it again. My friend--"

The watch she produces is large and expensive and ill-taken-care-of.

"He asked me if I knew anyplace that fixes watches," finishes Iris. This is technically not true. She volunteered the information the instant he mentioned he had a broken one, and immediately volunteered to take it by later that day. Because she is helpful. Yes.

She's... back?

That's a surprise.

Oh, but she's not here just... because. Of course. Her friends watch.

"It looks like a piece of work... but I'm sure with enough care and attention..." he trails off, realizing he's babbling. "Anyway, yeah, I can take care of it no problem." He smiles again, nodding, taking the watch from her and just sort of standing there for a moment, awkward and gangly-limbed like they're too big for his clothes or his own body, really.

Of course she has a reason. Iris wouldn't dare just come by for no reason at all.

"Thanks," she says. "Um-- when should I come back for it?"

Because the first thing she wants to know is how soon she can see him again.

Of course she could come over unnannounced - it would make him think like she was actually there to see him!

"Well, to be honest..." he thinks. It'll probably take him a good hour or so, at least. If not more.

"I mean, if you don't mind waiting..." he nervously shifts his weight from one foot to the other, eyes afraid to meet hers.
