You know, you can blame Christians for a lot, generally up to about the 1600s. Since then, we've evolved. Also, we've come to the understanding that Christ is strong enough to take a few jests, even a few insults, much like the "christ in the urine" of Mapplethorpe fame.

Mohammed is a common name among Arabs. Does this mean that all of those Mohammeds are going to be flogged for having the name?

I think the idea is that naming a toy or animal after Muhammad is extremely offensive.

I'm not sure why exactly (animals/toys are inferior to human beings, maybe?), but it's the reason that calling a teddy bear Muhammad is offensive and naming a child that is not.

How effin' ridiculous...they need to get a grip. IMO, and this is sooo snotty sounding, but SEE WHAT HAPPENS when you follow a messed up religion!

Nothing that goes on in that part of the world surprises me anymore. If moderate Muslims really do exist, it's unfortunate b/c the fanatical ones are the only ones being heard.
