My recent experience PCing MM, and comparing that to my experience PCing Madrigal, has given me some at least tangentially related food for thought. In short, I found it waaaaaaay quicker and easier to "get into" PCing MM than into PCing Madrigal. Focusing on the bits most directly related to your core question ( ... )

As Kumir, the character is so vastly different from me and has so many things about him that require my brain to be 100% dedicated to making him happen that I have no time for plot brain. Personality, posture, accent/manner of talking, physical mannerisms, color blindness... it's completely not me and keeping it up at all times consumes my brain ( ... )

I have never been on plot, but I have to agree with Ryxander and Kumir k9 that my most successful and fun player characters (and Npcs too for that matter) have 2 things ( ... )

I think being a PC requires some character downtime. Time when you sit around thinking your characters thoughts, having low stress-shoot the shit time with the other characters in game, doing stuff that does not further plot, but furthers your examination of who your character is.This is super important for me. It's fun to be somewhat busy and have stuff to do, but I need to have down time to interact with others players, or just chill ( ... )
