I'm on a higher dose of the antidepressants now. At this point I don't have any faith in pills getting me out of depression. I have to refill my anxiety meds perscription next week. I feel like a freak. I can't function without these meds

don't feel too hopeless about the increased dosage. i was on 80 mg of prozac daily at one point, which is 4 times the regular dose if i'm not mistaken. the meds aren't going to make you happy... they just enable you to have a broader range of emotions. i'm still on prozac, and i still get depressed. but i'm also able to feel okay when my situation is okay, which i wasn't able to do before i started on the meds.
you're not a freak. you have a difference in neurological chemistry that millions of people share with you. my doctor compares what we have to a diabetic taking insulin - you're replacing chemicals that your body needs to function properly. there's no shame in that.
