Sweet and tragic all in one.

Awesome, and hurty, and raw; one of the things I loved about this was how it wasn't easy, not even close. Jess's arrival wasn't a magical solution, and there were problems for all of them, including her. Pulling her right out of heaven and throwing her in the midst of screwed-up Winchesters showed such tremendous disregard, it was a great indication of Castiel's very narrow range of sympathies in his new God-state.

I enjoyed the mix of states for Sam - not lucid all the time, not lost all the time, just enough up and down that it must have felt like a constant balancing act for him and everyone else around him, with no real routine to get into, just having to roll with it all the time.

I also really liked how even-handed it was in terms of the character presence, with Sam, Dean and Jess all feeling equally significant.

I'm really happy that the three of them all felt equal. It wanted to make sure none of them felt like a gimmick, or just a plot excuse for the other two.
