OMG AS IF I NEEDED ANOTHER REASON TO WATCH FRIGHT NIGHT, YOU GIVE US A CLIP OF DAVID TENNANT SHIRTLESS.

Those filmmakers know exactly what to show us to get people in the theater. Ten as a drunk, insane magician? CHECK.

For some reason, seeing it as Ten makes me enjoy it more. Like, as if that's how he'd play him if DW wasn't a family show and it was early S2.

I'm so sick of superhero movies. I get it, I really do, but it's been like a deluge. More stories about regular people (maybe even some women, huh?) achieving extraordinary things to balance it out, please. I'm looking forward to both The Hobbit and The Hunger Games for that reason, in addition to being a fan of the source material.

It seems like there's a tiny chance that Paradise Lost might actually be pretty great, or at least entertainingly cracky.

I'm sick of superhero movies too...it seems the only one I was wanting to see was Thor. It would be good to see regular people...I haven't read the Hunger Games so I haven't been keeping on it too much.

neither Judge nor any of the other SG-1 castmembers have gone on to do anything in movies, much less to have significant careers outside the Stargate universe at all.

Uh... Amanda Tapping in Sanctuary?

And I could probably find half a dozen movies Michael Shanks has been in without even trying--but oh, they're not big Hollywood movies, so I guess they don't count.

And, I mean, not SG-1, but Jason Momoa is having some success (now if he can just put a filter between his brain and his mouth...).

Beau Bridges? Don S. Davis? Corin Nemec? Claudia Black? Does it only count if they do something else after SG-1? Also, Richard Dean Anderson doesn't need to impress you, he's fucking Macguyver.

I just... really? And then he snarks about the SG-1 fans that are going to skewer him? Wow.

Not to mention, I was always under the impression that Judge wasn't doing acting stuff post-SG1 because he was trying to do other things. He always had a lot going on, not just his acting.

I literally >:| when I read that bit that you quoted. And I'm not even the biggest fan of the Stargate universe.

Richard Dean Anderson doesn't need to impress you, he's fucking Macguyver.

AMEN.

Having just watched 10 seasons of SG-1 in about 2 months... With you there.

Judge focuses on things other than acting (in addition to acting), Shanks and Tapping are, in fact, quite active, Black's done a few things, Browder seems to be in development hell on a few things, Don Davis is DEAD, and Richard Dean Anderson has different priorities now.

Sometimes the writing was questionable, but the /characters/ were great.

1. All right, Andrew Garfield. I still have no interest in watching this reboot, and the first-person stuff in the trailed was a GIANT NO, but... that was utterly charming and moving. Points to you, sir.

2. Poor Karl Urban, indeed. He really deserves to be in much better movies. Here's hoping that he's doing Judge Dredd because it's a fannish dream of his or something.

3. I still don't understand the BATTLESHIP movie. Like, I see words, but they just don't compute. Also, I tried to look at the poster, but the site keeps loading a blank screen where it should be. I assume that's a mercy.

4. So glad to see that Tennant is enjoying himself. Somebody cast him as Dr. Strange, NOW.
