Andrew Garfield was in "Doctor Who" (the season three Dalek two-parter) and "Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" in case you're wondering where you've seen him. I'm still ind of sad they didn't go with a black Spidey after all. :/

Actual like from TLA (my hand to God, I am not making this up:) "We need to show them that we believe in our beliefs as much as they believe in their beliefs!" Says it all, really.

Let me tell you, people, I think RPattz has finally been out-haired. -- I thought Matt "Eleventh Doctor" Smith could give RPattz a run for his money in the Follicle Sweepstakes (though Matt's coiffure tends to be neater), but that guy has taken it to a whole 'nother level. DAYUM.

Do you think M. Night managed to screw up that badly, or is this some kind of karmic balancing act to make up for the release of what appears to be a good Twilight movie?

Yay for emosparklekitteh finding a home!

I think MNS has been on a steady decline of Not Getting It for a long while now. I know some people like Lady in the Water, but that movie is lathered in nonsensical self-indulgence, IMO--the rules of the fairy tale seem to change on a dime, and then there's the character he himself plays, and the Let's Kill the Movie Critic bit--and The Happening takes it one step further into complete WTF.

I don't know what happened after Signs, but it was like, until that point, he was making movies that people felt strongly about either way, but at least held up on a certain level. The Village was where it started to fall apart, and it just snowballed downward from there. I seriously do not understand how each movie gets consistently worse. This is a guy who was nominated for an Oscar for best screenplay, whether he stole the story from "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" or not. Suddenly he stops being able to write dialogue on a line-by-line level? ("How's it going, tree?") I don't even know.

It's almost like he's succumbed to the Dunning-Kruger Effect:
“When people are incompetent in the strategies they adopt to achieve success and satisfaction, they suffer a dual burden: Not only do they reach erroneous conclusions and make unfortunate choices, but their incompetence robs them of the ability to realize it. Instead, like Mr. Wheeler,* they are left with the erroneous impression they are doing just fine.” (Justin Kruger and David Dunning, “Unskilled and Unaware of It: How Difficulties of Recognizing One’s Own Incompetence Lead to Inflated Self-assessments,” Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, 1999, vol. 77, no. 6, pp. 1121-1134.)

You may have heard of McArthur Wheeler. In 1995 he tried to rob two banks in Pittsburgh, without a mask, in broad daylight. When told he'd been identified from the banks' surveillance footage he was surprised and upset, because he thought that since lemon juice could be used as an invisible ink he could make himself invisible by rubbing the juice on his face. Even weirder? Before the ( ... )

I love the Dunning-Kruger effect. I read that five-part article about it, too, with the lemon juice robber. I just love that there's finally a way to express, more bluntly, that someone can be too stupid to know that they're stupid.

Y'know what really pisses me the fuck off about Airbender?

NO GODDAMN KYOSHI WARRIORS, THE FUCK IS THAT. They were showing a deleted scene of them on TV last night, and it looked really awesome, AND THEY WERE ASIAN. ASIAN.

Well, I mean, that was their problem right there. Racial diversity? In M. Night's Airbender?

Yeah, really!

Everything I've heard about the movie from fans is that Katara is like, the lamest character ever in this movie.

Also, this video is the best reaction to the movie that I've seen all day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHi1zaN0ooc
