Years of Doctor Who has left me unable to watch GoF without wondering why the Doctor is being so mean to nice Harry Potter. Much like how 28 Days Later scarred me for life concerning Christopher Eccleston's Doctor.

So of course there was a really-funny-in-retrospect moment when Miranda Richardson first shows up and goes straight for The Hair--like, a big handful, damn--and of course the whole "You should go take a bath" thing will never stop being funny to me.

Hee. Just one more reason to buy it on DVD.

You know, there are movies that end up being really strange to watch a few years later--Sense and Sensibility, what with the Future Harry Potter Actors Repertory Troupe thing going on, is one of them. Now, between David Tennant and Robert Pattinson, GOF is another.

Sense and Sensibility also features Hugh Laurie playing what can now be interpreted as a proto-House. Oh, and there's a scene in Jude where bitsy David Tennant mocks Christopher Eccleston for not being upper-class. That movie isn't strange so much as overwhelmingly depressing, though.

You know what's fun? Wonder Boys. Spider-Man and Iron Man in bed together.

Ralph Fiennes is fantastic. Have you seen In Bruges? It's an excellent movie and all the actors are amazing, really (I never thought I'd like Colin Farrell), but Fiennes is really perfect in his role.

I don't think anyone would have cause to complain if you cut back on linkspamming, or posted not every day. You can't be a posting machine (Cleobot?), after all.

You know, I actually have the DVD here from Netflix right now, and I just haven't watched it yet.

Oh, it's really really good. It's very funny and sad and dark, and it makes you fall in love with the characters played by Brendan Gleeson and Farrell.

Seconded! It's really a fantastic movie, alternately hilarious, horrifying, and devastatingly sad.

Hey, Uwe Boll's back in the slot!

I'm actually a fan of shorter linkspam -- I think I miss stuff skimming the longer ones.

Yeah--I really kind of want to cut down on the miscellaneous stuff, but at the same time, it's like, everyone likes something different. I don't know.

My impulse is to cut down on the stuff people would find other places, but it depends on where they're looking, you know? And I tend to skip the big blocks of movie news, and other people head right to those... ultimately, choose your sanity and don't worry too much about what we all want.

Well, the big blocks tend to be organized by movie--everything about Harry Potter, everything about James Bond--so that if you're not interested in that movie, you can skip that chunk. If you can skim the first link in each block and go, "Okay, not interested in that one," you can skip to the next and not miss anything.

Well, and also there's the miscellaneous images and miscellaneous trailers sections, I guess. I just try to group things in a way so that it doesn't just look like an endless random list.

Ralph Fiennes will never NOT scare the bejeebus out of me.

Agreed. He totally scares me when he's running around the graveyard and "I WANT TO SEE THE LIGHT LEAVE YOUR EYES" IS KIND OF TERRIFYING.

Mainly because I sort of believe that he really DOES want to see the light leave his eyes and will giggle and eat Dippin' Dots and crack out his camera phone for the whole thing.

Oh, dude, I'd forgotten that line. Yeah... also that part.

Another part that gets me is "Get up! GET UP!" Like, he's all manic but also like, "IT'S NOT FUN UNLESS YOU FIGHT BACK." Eeeeeeeh.

Somehow, Speed Racer made it onto the list and Dark Knight didn't. My mind has been blown. And HOLY CRAP the regency dress up doll thing is the most amazing thing of ever.

And thank you so much for putting the community in the linkspam!

I like it because it sometimes starts sing-alongs in the comments. And because it's highly amusing.
