I had a couple of thoughts today while I was making breakfast after posting the True Blood recap1. Are sunlight-phobic vampires so angsty because they don't get enough vitamin D ( Read more... )

There was an ep of "Blood Ties" that had a vamp getting fried from a heat lamp of some sort. It was the first time I'd seen anything with vampires explore the lamp option. ;)

I was gonna say, one of Tanya Huff's short stories dealt with that issue. Yes, you can kill vampires with UV lamps, at least in her universe.

On the morning show I listen to, people call in and say things like "Hey, I live down the street from a Greek couple, I'm qualified to be Ambassador to Greece!" It's hilarious.

Well, I don't know that "Froud" really helps you all that much. It's from a deck of cards Brian Froud did--a much brighter version of an older piece of art he did. I want to say it's Queen Mab? I'm not sure off hand.

Froud is all I need - totally explains why I like it. ;) I'd just never seen that particular piece before (that I remember). His faeries are always so pretty.

I'm pretty sure the lamp idea is explored in 30 Days of Night... I think a UV light used for growing weed is used to fend off some vamps? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
