Tuesday night, (something clever)

Arrrrrrrr, tired. (Pirate-tired, apparently.) Did as much on “Cloverfield” and “The Golden Compass” as I could physically do without an internet connection (I felt like searching for links was slowing me down, particularly last night), which is a huge chunk of work. “Van Helsing” is also almost finished. I fear going back to “Hannibal in Fifteen ( Read more... )

the one and only time i watched Idol was a few years ago, when they had Showtunes night. it was terrible. i can only cringe at the thought of what these people might do to me beloved Lloyd Webber tunes!!

When things are at their blackest here at work, I'll sneak off to reread the Van Helsing M15M and I'll feel a world better when I'm done.

Thanks for adding a touch of joyous insanity to my day.

It's much appreciated.

I mean, as sure as I say that, everyone'll be great (or boring, at least), but I really-truly think it has the potential to get awful. So I will be taking the night off to boggle at that.

I wasn't sure how train-wreck-y it would be until I saw the song list on ONTD, and now I'm sure it's going to be horrible.

I don't know about ontd, but here's a copy+paste from VFTW.

Syesha Mercado -- "One Rock & Roll Too Many" from Starlight Express
Brooke White -- "You Must Love Me" from the film adaptation of "Evita"
David Cook -- "Music of the Night" from Phantom of the Opera
Jason Castro -- "Memory" from Cats
Carly Smithson -- "Jesus Christ Superstar"
David Archuleta -- "Think of Me" from Phantom of the Opera.

Okay, the two Davids somehow do not surprise me at all. Although, in searching for the ONTD entry, I did see where ALW said that he liked what Brooke did with her song.

You know, he was actually one of the better mentors they've had. And he immediately told Carly to ditch "All I Ask of You" and go with "Jesus Christ Superstar," and she ended up doing what was pretty much the best performance of the evening.
