I think it is normal for all creative people to look back at their old stuff and go "God Why"
I know stress and worrying can kill creativity easily. Maybe you should do what I did and just rest for a bit and try not to worry about writing or readers. Maybe focus on drawing or something like that.
Sort of give yourself a mini vacation from writing
I giggled so hard at the oh god, why part! But it's true too...hit close to home! I def have those moments.
It's so hard to take a stress free vacation. I have serious angst over losing all those months to the OCD download spree...so then I end up pressuring myself more, that I HAVE to update something, anything, to make up for "slacking off."
You need to give yourself some credit. You have written so much free stuff. I remember you said your therapist said you treated writing like your job. I did that too before I had a job.
I think when you don't have a job something else usually consumes us if we are a really driven person. So your writing has been made your job because you need to do something productive.

I really hope some day you'll start the Voltron wave again:) And just as an idea you can one day continue with one of my favorite stories about Lotor in Allura's harem:) Insert wishful thinking:)

Thanks! Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I did not get a notice that you had left me a message. BTW, you should check the fanart tag..I have some friends only privte entries of art, and that includes NSFW pinups of the men folk! So far we got Lotor, Hook, Cossack, Cleoius, all showing the goodies! And Ryder and Sabbath to come! Hazar and Lezard too!
*hugs* I am trying to breathe! But I feel such guilt over not writing something. And top it off, certain people succeed in making me feel guilty over not writing for the right story and or fandom. Sometimes I think I am burning out.........where's that cake delivery?! *flails*
Lotor: *arrives with a smashed cake, cause he got into a fight with Hazar over who was gonna deliver it*
Me: D: Mistress is displeased about the state of the cake! *flails and cracks whip*
Ryder: What do you MEAN she dreams about other men, AYE? She is DONE with that - that - brutish Scotsman! (pause to think: "I USED to like him but he's just too crude!" - yeah, is that the REAL reason?)
Me: (staring at a certain photo) I'm done with WHAT now?
Ryder: (facepalm) Ayyyyy.....never mind! I'm sending another cake over RIGHT NOW! And I'M GOING TO DELIVER IT!
Hazar: (from wherever he is) And I'M sending Megs a cake, and I'LL be IN it! Heh.
Can't help but perk up a little to read that! Thanks. Maybe I am being too hard on myself (Damn perfectionist thing when it comes to my writing stories) and the story. I do think the later chapters read better than some of the start. But I also remember this memory of how I was struggling with Sabbath, thinking he isn't coming off sympathethic enough...I just remember thinking I was messing up the story WHILE I was writing it. And couldn't figure out at the time how to fix it. Sometimes when I take a break from a story, and come back a few months or years later, it's for the good of the story, since I make better choices for the plot and characters

What are you talking about you made Sabbath VERY sympathetic and interesting to read. The way he struggles between what he believes to be his duties and his growing attraction for the human prisoner was very realistic. In fact I also really liked how you made Lotor more in character (no offense to your other work or anything they are also very interesting reads). Hell i'm still hoping that you'll eventually pick the story back up and finish it at some point.
As for the not writing thing. Just pick up a laptop and start typing, that's what I do.
If it was that easy to form a story that is of well written quality then everyone would just pick up a laptop and write. But it's not. When you are stuck, you're stuck, and it doesn't matter if you have your fingers on the keyboard, if the words won't even form in your head, and the ones that do, dont' sound right, and don't flow naturally into the next sentence, and then the next, and the next, and so on until you have a chapter or story

I think writing gives me purpose in an otherwise purposeless life if that make sense. The being productive thing also is nice to feel!
