Sickbed take 3

Nov 03, 2009 16:42

Saturday afternoon I started to get a scratchy throat and a cough, which then morphed into an even worse cough and a low grade fever by Sunday, and then a 102 degree fever on Monday. This is the third time I've been quite sick in the last four months and each time it's gone straight to my lungs. Something is definately amiss. I spent all afternoon ( Read more... )

You look fabulous! I'm imagining you with Joan's perfectly styled hair. Where did they find the time to do their hair back then?

Thanks! It was a lot of fun getting into character. I usually wear my hair down with minimal make-up, so I was pretty surprised how much time it took to get my hair into the bun, spray it, and do the make-up. I would never have the patience to deal with it normally, low maintanence girl that I am. I think the whole get-up actually made me look much older (or should I say "mature") and classier than I usually appear.

Joan is a total sex bomb. I only watched about the first 8 eps of "Mad Men", and had a really hard time getting into the characters, but I loved her right off the bat. Fierce!

They didn't have the internet.

Me, too! I'm getting really tired of being sick all the time.

And thanks. I had a lot of fun compiling it. Everyone at work loved it, so it well worth the effort.

Hope you feel better and stay germ free.

Your costume and look are terrific. You seem like a time traveler. I've never seen 'Mad Men'. Maybe I'll try to get it from Netflix.

Thanks. It seems like it's just about that time to start wearing a scary surgical mask. And to think it's barely even the start of winter.

And thanks for the kudos on the costume. I thought I did a good job channeling the era. What was fun about it was my co-workers weren't exactly sure if it was a costume or I just looked really nice. Fun with clothes. My favorite pasttime.

I'm not actually a 'Mad Men' fan myself. I had a really hard time getting into the show, but most people I know really love it.

...

Well... if nothing else you lost 3 pounds. And much needed time away from work, despite the circumstances.

And of course, you rocked the outfit. I was so afraid to touch you and mess it up... or it would've been my head.

When I saw this comment I was thinking "Who the hell is this anonymous commenter?" and then it was like, "Oh. Duh." What brings you to my piece of the internet? Not our usual medium of communication.

if nothing else you lost 3 pounds.
A nice side effect, I suppose. My fever made me think of your fever, but that was, like, depilitatingly bad. I wouldn't have wanted that.

And much needed time away from work, despite the circumstances.
It wasn't even productive time away from work though. I haven't done any writing or editing. Just been sick in bed sleeping. Not fun. I'll probably go in to the office after my doc appointment tomorrow morning though. Checked my work email and saw that Cirque sent me an invitation to the opening night of Wintuk next week at MSG. That was pretty sweet!

Yeah... it's good that you didn't end up like me. Nothing like the mother of all runs to ruin a weekend. Albeit, your weekend might have been ruined, at least you were blessed with not spending it on the can.

And as for the tix, I hope they're comp'ed. Cause if they are, well that would make it awesome-er.

Sick again?? Is your immune system in some kind of competition with mine to see which one can suck more? I'm just waiting to get swine flu now. That will just take the cake.

Dude, for reals. I should just get a surgical mask now and call it a day. You get points for longevity on evil bug, and I get points for frequency. Did the results come back from the colonscopy? Did they find out what's going on?

Nope, no results yet. I have an appointment next week, where hopefully they will be able to tell me something. In the meantime, it seems like things are getting worse again, so I may be back on the all-cracker diet until they figure out what's wrong.
