*laughs* The Master ALWAYS calls the Fifth Doctor "my dear Doctor". And you know where that takes my mind. It's as bad as Three/Delgado. It makes you realize that this has been going on for a long time, not just recently. The Masters thoughts. "I killed him and he became prettier. Yay! Fun Time."

Turlough being captured, it just happens. They really like tying the guy up. Or putting him is a cell. Those kinds of things.

It's mostly a filler story, but it's a good filler. :D

"I killed him and he became prettier." We need to stop giving each other icon ideas. They will take over the internet.

*laughs* I don't think we can stop. It mostly happens by accident.

There's something about fangirls that they MUST ship the Doctor and the Master, take everything they say out of context, and pretend there's a sexual relationship there. It simply isn't there. It's not even true of Tennant and Simm. It's implied Simm feels that way, but the Doctor rebuffs any such notion. Of all the new Who fan foibles, this is the one that makes the least amount of sense to me.

Anyway, on to the story. Kamelion is a horribly underused character, and it's a shame. I enjoyed the mental battle here, hadn't seen a proper one of those since Three Doctors.

I agree that there ultimately isn't anything sexual going on, but the Doctor and the Master do seem to have a very curious bond with each other. They claim to be bitter enemies, but there's still a layer of cordial admiration between them (this felt most evident between Pertwee's Doctor and Delgado's Master, who could actually carry out very natural conversation with each other).

Ah yes, I did find myself wanting more Kamelion after this, especially since he's identified himself as an individual character and not just a machine. But it looks like we're going to have to wait a season before he comes back...then he "dies"...

Perhaps we need a clarification of the term 'ship' then. Because yes, they were friends at school and all that. -Arcalian

You enjoy the show your way and we'll enjoy it ours. Okay? Of course a relationship is never directly stated, but there is a *lot* of subtext (the "Master detector" from a Three serial, for example).

The Master flat out states that "a cosmos without the Doctor scarcely bears thinking about." That's not twisting his words or taking something out of context! He's saying he can't doesn't like the idea of the Doctor not existing! Even if you can't stand the idea of their relationship being sexual, and on that to each their own, the comment at the *very least* clearly shows a very strong attachment.

You're very wrong on one point, however. It is *not* a New Who thing. Delgado and Three were shippier than Ten and Simm could dream of being. I like New Who, but it was Ainley!Master and Five who made me a shipper!

I think Turlough's exasperation at being constantly chained up culminating in his time sword!spaz is my favourite thing ever. That, and the Doctor and Master's eye!sex.

Doesn't Turlough wind up in bondage many more times anyway? :3

Eye!sex! I need to remember this...
