Trials in Los Angeles

Apparently there was a convention in town this week.  That means I got my last choice hotel.  And its the single ugliest hotel room I've ever stayed in.  Plus possibly the most uncomfortable.

The walls are painted in gray and white stripes with a random orange stripe through the middle.  Its very retro cool (I'm sure).  The beds have no boxspring

Maybe it's just me but any word with toilet in it should never be near the words kiss my face. Unless it's an insult like kiss my butt, toilet face.

The Standard! That's like a world-famous hotel. It features prominently in William Gibson's latest novel Spook Country.

Oh ha! I didn't make the connection when I got an earful about the place on my phone. Now it all falls into place. Excellent.
