[filtered from drones and the usual Big BadsWell, Mayfield. I'm sure we're all still rather mournful about the recent mental departure of Madame Major General from our ranks. Such a pillar of the community, mm ( Read more... )

I've put little stock in that 'military' of theirs. With such a ragtag group, all we can do is pool our skills and our resources together in order to fight back as best we are able when the time comes.

The fact that one leader alone held all the secrets is proof enough of the flaw in their system. But the information has been dispersed, and that is the crux of it at the moment. But what about further information? Is it to be hoarded and then not released by those who believe themselves to be in power and then left behind should they be released from this prison?

You sound like a very shrewd man. I should like to speak with you at greater length and in greater detail if you're not averse to the idea...?

To lead the people is only to follow the mob. But I suppose that's rather too philosophical for a practical moment like this one.

I'm never averse to speaking candidly with thoughtful individuals.

And what, pray tell, is wrong with philosophy?

Very little. Some people simply find it a more obscure medium to deal in when seeking practicable solutions for pressing situations.

Yer completely right, man. We need ta get movin' on this. An' I don't think only one person should be in charge 'a all this. If everyone wants out, then everyone needs ta work on this. If only a coupla people 'r in charge, then if they get droned then we're back ta square one.

Precisely said. It is, alas, still a tall order to ask the people to organize themselves.

I wanna try, but this town don't make it easy. I must be tha only guy here's who's only gotten droned once in all these months here, an' even then it was only a coupla hours. I definitely wanna get some plans in gear though.

I imagine, then, you're rallying the remnants of the Major General's troops?

One person getting droned shouldn't screw us over, no. And it won't. But it helps to have a leader to rally everyone together; it makes everyone feel united... secure, even. I guess we'll have to find a workaround for that, though, because it is kinda inconvenient, with this place being as unpredictable as it is~

On the contrary. A leader is best when people barely know he exists. When his work is done, they should say: "we did it ourselves." Or something to that effect.

Besides, this place is hardly wholly unpredictable.

My army back home worked because we knew who our leader was... then again, he was one of a kind! So I guess that wouldn't work so well here.

...Is that so~? I guess that's... kinda true. This place really throws me for a loop sometimes, though! It must depend on the day~

It's a tall order to hold a single individual responsible for the fates of the many. Your leader must be an impressive man.

Not everyone stands on the same two feet, after all.

I can't imagine what on earth a man might find amusing about concern and fellowship between members of an oppressed population.

[Nagi doesn't reply. He is, however, amused at this for reasons he can't completely explain.]

[Nagi, there is nothing funny about being a good Samaritan with the safety of the public in mind.

....no, no, you're right; it's hilarious.]
