WHO: Simon, Gina WHAT: A not-so-double date. WHEN: June 21st (deliciously backdated) WHERE: In front of the NYC hotel. WARNINGS: Awkward turtles abound.
Gina stepped outside the hotel and immediately spotted a familiar head of blue hair. She moved quickly over to Simon and poked him in the side with a smile on her face. Since they'd been planning to go out at night the blonde had decided to wear something a bit different than what she'd been wearing during most of the trip. She was wearing a pair of blue jean capris, a shirt that was far too short (something she wouldn't normally wear back home), and a simple pair of slip-on flats. Even her hair that she normally wore down was pulled up into a ponytail.
"So where's the other two." she asked looking around before turning back to Simon. Then she grinned. "Let me guess, its a set up, right?"
"Well, he says Orihime is sick, but..." Simon rolled his eyes. If Gina was having the same thought, it was probably true. It then suddenly hit him as he was looking at her that she was very, very pretty. He'd of course, noticed this before, but it didn't help his nerves that she'd actually dressed up a little.
Simon fidgeted. He also suddenly felt under-dressed in his blue jeans and button-down. Great, that really didn't help his nerves.
"Yeah, so... " He said after a minute or so of awkward fidgeting. "If you don't wanna go out anymore, we don't have to." He looked away from her, at some random point building across the street. Simon didn't want to go back already, but he figured she probably didn't want to be stuck on a date with him. And he wasn't about to force her into anything awkward like that.
Not that this wasn't already as awkward as one could possibly make it.
Gina tilted her head to the side and smiled at Simon. "Why wouldn't I want to go out anymore?" she questioned. So what if the other two had ditched them the blue haired boy was fun to be around. And despite him being the complete opposite of her usual preference for guys she found herself a bit attracted to him.
"I'm sure there's something we can do and have more fun than we would have with them." she giggled.
He didn't know whether to be glad or extremely nervous, so he settled for a strangely fidgety anticipation. Simon was, of course, happy that she had agreed to still go out. He wasn't really looking forward to heading back to an evening of TV and takeout. They were in New York, for crying out loud, there had to be something more exciting to do.
"Yeah... Oh, hey, I was thinking about what to do and y'know... We haven't actually gone to any of the really stereo-typical tourist things yet. Which we probably should at least see, y'know?" He rambled. There was something about being around her that made him forget to slow down or breath.
"Umm... anyway, I was thinking that, uh... Maybe you'd want to check out the Statue of Liberty?" He looked over at Gina, hoping she'd smile or nod, or do something to let him know if he'd made a good suggestion. "If not, we could always wander around central park, or go to dinner, or something..." He added, sort of as an afterthought.
