On Christmas Eve, Terri Sanvincente (
glitteraquarius) was brutally murdered by her ex-husband in front of her three children. She was one of ours, a member of
ontd_ai, and last night we held a donation drive in support of the Houston Area Women's Center, which provides support to survivors of domestic violence. I volunteered to write ficlets in exchange for donations, which I'll soon begin posting here, but if anyone else would like to contribute the HAWC giving page is
here, or consider giving to your own local women's shelter. Support is always needed everywhere.
I'd been considering making some kind of index for my AI ficlets for a while since I have a lot of them now, and this latest drive just spurred me to get that project done and ready for the next batch. I was going to make a new delicious account, but they've got all that Yahoo shenanigans going on now, so I remembered an old account I made that I never really used that seemed ideal for repurposing. So, voila! All ficlets were bookmarked and titled something other than "roundup" and organized by character, pairing, rating, length, and a few notes (that are not exhaustive, just the ones that are ~relevant to my interests).
And as I was carrying out this exercise in organisation and procrastination, I was reminded that I now have a few subsections of mostly ficlets that exist in the same 'verse (I'm terrible at noticing this, and frequently have to be asked 'is this part of the same universe as so-and-so?' to which I reply 'huh, yeah, I think it is'). So I added tags for that too.
Then I realised that if I was tagging by 'verse, then I really needed to include all my full-length stories as well, so I added them (though they're bookmarked by #cutid1 instead of main URL because a) I'm totally a delicious stalker; I have no hang-ups about people bookmarking instead of commenting, I just like to see them too :) and b) I already have the main URL for full-length stories and collections bookmarked on my primary delicious account, and it would just feel weird to do it twice.)
So yes, that's a super long-winded way of saying I now have an exhaustive and organised directory of my AI fic - most relevantly all the ficlets - up at
http://delicious.com/theuncj. Which will probably only ever be of use to me, but you never know.
And now, back to writing! (As a side note, to my auction winners, you are not forgotten. Longfic is long. :)
