Title: Sacrifices (2/7)
Rating: R: violence, harsh language, you probably know the drill by now.
Warning: The story contains the death of a young child right at the outset, and later scenes of violence involving a child which some people may find distressing.

Really enjoyed the insight into Danny this chapter, CJ -- I'm really diggin' him finally dealing with the moral center that he's been trying to ignore...for a while now, really. Danny tends to appear in SCC fic as a vengeful, reactive (read: one-dimensional) character, but you really made me feel for him here. The exchange between him and Auldridge, especially the references to Sarah and Terissa, the mothers, bit a chunk out of my heart...

Shit. Um. No. Oops. Kinda forgot about this one. It's only a little cliff though, it's not like anyone's bleeding or anything *g*
but guy's a seemingly unrepentant child-killer... I kinda expect Sarah to go in, shoot him in the nads, and just stare at him o_O
I think John was right to call her on her motives and she knows they're a little gray at best. She also knows she's got a hell of a temper buried under a remarkable amount of restraint - Strange Things... springs to mind. So yeah, who the hell knows what'll happen? Well, I guess I do, but I'm not telling ;-) (and don't go bribing Roxy or Cat either - Cat is far too susceptible to expensive choccie!)

I kanna lie. I like it when Sarah goes crazy on folks who've done something bad. :D

LOL! Good to know... ;)
Auldridge was brilliant to write, I didn't believe him for a second in BTR when he was giving his big speech, but he believes it now! He was the perfect character to set Danny straight on a few facts.
I'd always wondered what he'd be like if he ever returned in your 'verse, and how he is makes total and complete sense: harsh, but totally on-point
"my son is all I have left."
I think that was the part that broke me into itty bitty little pieces... :'((

He kinda had a very rude awakening in Know Your Exits. Bullet in the guts from a T-888 will - to quote Derek - certainly make you reconsider your life choices!

Sorry about that. Tarissa didn't really have the best of luck, did she?

I'm glad that Danny finally realized his worldview was being manipulated, and got the straight poop from Auldridge. It will be interesting to see how he uses his new knowledge.
I'm also looking forward to how you approach Sarah interrogating Makin. We may have learned a few things about effective interrogation techniques in recent years... less violence, more psychology.
Technical note: I use a Stoner design (M16 derivative) rifle in competition. It likes little bitty dabs of grease (not oil) on the locking lugs of the bolt, and on the sliding surfaces of the bolt carrier. Excessive oil is messy and attracts dirt, leading to malfunctions.
And the fragrance in the air would likely be Hoppes #9, a cleaning solvent. It's like Chanel, for boys.

Yeah, I'm not sure Sarah's in a polite conversation-type mood, but y'never know...

As illyria12 pointed out, the metal packed Sarah a lunch. (chuckles) Cute twist. Wherever are you going with *that* ;-).
